For beginners, simple caramel cake recipe

Have you ever tried making a caramel cake? Are you still not sure? Good news! This recipe is perfect for beginners. Today’s blog will share a simple caramel cake recipe for beginners. There are many types of caramel cakes, including butterscotch caramel and salted caramel. Any flavour you like can be used. Let’s get started.

Ingredients

* Softened salted butter, 225g plus additional for the tins

* 125g goldencaster sugar

* 100g light brown soft Sugar

* 1 tsp vanilla extract

* 4 large eggs

* 225g self-raising flour

* 2 tbsp milk

* toffee, chocolate or caramel pieces, to decorate

Icing

* 200g softened salted butter

* 400g icing sugar

* 70g caramel sauce, dulce de leche or caramel spread, plus 3 tbsp to serve

Method

STEP 1

* This recipe will use the oven. Preheat the oven for approximately 10 minutes at 180 degrees.

* Meanwhile, take the 20 cm cake tins and butter them well.

Butter paper can be used to line the tins, which will allow for a smooth transition between the tins.

STEP 2

The cream is made. Use an electric whisk to beat butter and sugars until you have a light, fluffy texture.

* After that, we will add vanilla, eggs, and a few spoonfuls flour. Make sure to beat the mixture well after each ingredient so it comes together smoothly.

* After that, we will add the flour and milk.

* When the mixture is ready, pour it into the tins you have prepared.

Place the mixture in two tins. Bake for 20-30 minutes.

* Watch out for it to turn golden. This is an indicator that it’s being cooked.

* Check the inside of the cake by inserting a skewer into it.

It’s considered cooked if it comes out clean.

* Keep it cool once you are done. Do not touch it until it is completely cooled.

* Place the tins on wire racks to allow for air circulation and for the base to cool down.

STEP 3

* While the sponge cools, we move on to the icing.

* To do this, we first combine butter and icing sugar in a bowl. Then we whisk it until it becomes light and airy.

* Next, add some caramel and some boiling water (only when necessary to loosen the icing).

* After the sponge is done, add the icing to it. Make sure the sponge is cool before you place it.

STEP 4

* To ice the sponge, place it on top of each other and bring them together. Cover the sponge with the remaining icing.

To achieve a neat look, spread it evenly. To make it smoother, you can use a knife to cut or the back of a spoon.

* A cake stand can be used to smoothen the sides of the sponge. It makes it easier because the sponge can be turned easily on the stand.

* Allow it to cool down until it sets.

To achieve a drip-down effect, drizzle some sauce over the top of your cake.

To achieve the desired look, you can use edible glitter or sparklers.
