Many types of airbrush guns
Let's first explain the workings of an airbrush. The compressor's air is transported to the airbrush via an airline. The airbrush gun pushes your color out of the nozzle and onto the cake. Cake Art sells airbrushes that use gravity feed. The color is added to a bowl on top of the gun. The color is forced out of the nozzle by the airbrush as the trigger is pulled back. There are two types of airbrushes: single-action and dual-action. Both types are available for sale. Pull back on your trigger in the single-action gun to release color and air. The more color you spray, the further back you pull. The distance you hold the spray gun to the cake will determine the size and shape of the spray. Basic airbrush kits include a single-action airbrush gun and a compressor. The airbrush trigger can be adjusted to control how many colors you want and how far away the cake is from it. The deluxe version uses the same airbrush gun but has a knob that adjusts the airflow. This allows you to control how strong the color is directed at your cake. You can also make detail work much easier by using a gentler airflow. An airbrush kit also includes a dual-action airbrush gun. This type lets you pull back on the trigger to release the color, but pushing down on it releases the air. This airbrush kit has a knob that regulates the airflow. The compressor will turn on and off while you work to maintain your chosen pressure settings. The moisture trap will also be installed to remove any moisture built up within the airbrush. Special airbrush colors are required for airbrush guns. They must be of the right consistency to pass through the gun without clogging. There are many airbrush colors that you can choose from, including pearlized colors for fondant and buttercream iced cakes. These colors and a commercial airbrush cleaner are also available online or in our shop. We also have stencils, books, and even a video. This information should help you choose the right airbrush for you. Many people are happy with the cheapest airbrush. Others prefer to start with the most expensive and then upgrade later. Some people choose to invest in a more powerful airbrush right from the beginning. If you decide to go for the latter, you can always sell your old machine to offset the price of the new one.A more deluxe model uses the same single action airbrush gun, but the air compressor comes with a knob to adjust the air flow.
