Instructions to make a heart-shaped Valentine cake
Vanilla Cake
- Preheat the microwave at 350° Fahrenheit. Grease the cake pan in a heart shape and line it up with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine sugar, baking powder and salt.
- Add butter to another bowl. Use an electric mixer to soften the butter. Next, add milk and vanilla extract. Combine them.
- Add eggs to the mixture and mix them with an electric mixer.
- Mix the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until you have no lumps.
- Once the batter is prepared, place it in a pan with a heart shape and bake for 35-40 minutes.
- To check if the cake has been baked, use the toothpick.
- Please do not remove the cake immediately after it is baked. Let it cool down for at least 15-20 minutes.
Chocolate Ganache Filling
- Add the dark chocolate chips to a bowl. Next, add the butter to the bowl and microwave it for 30 seconds.
- You can also use a double boiler to melt the butter and chocolate chips.
- Mix them well, then add the vanilla extract to your ganache. Stir again.
- You can either apply the ganache directly to the cake or let it cool at room temperature until it thickens.
Buttercream
- Use an electric hand mixer to beat butter in a large bowl until it becomes light and fluffy.
- Add salt and vanilla extract to the butter and stir them together.
- Add 1/3 cup powdered sugar to the mixture and mix it until smooth. Mix 1/3 of the powdered sugar with a tablespoon of milk. Continue beating for one minute. Continue the process with sugar and milk.
- After they have been combined, you can add food coloring to buttercream to see the texture and thickness.
Assembling
- Once the cake is cool, take it out of the pan. We can cut the cake in half to add chocolate ganache, then cover it with buttercream.
- After cutting the cake in half, add the chocolate glaze to the bottom.
- Place the upper half back on the bottom and apply pink buttercream.
- Your cake is now ready!
Toppings
Any topping you want can be used. If you wish, fresh flowers such as roses and marigolds can be added to the cake. You can decorate the cake by adding edible flowers or leaves. It would be best if you thought about what you want. Otherwise, the cake will not look good with buttercream.
