- Use an offset spatula to apply a thin layer of clear piping gel. Next, use the spatula for a single stroke to smoothen the wafer paper image. Although the wafer paper will initially curl, the piping gel's weight should make it flatten.
- Move the image to waxed papers. You can color an image that you want to put on a cake with edible food markers and a craft brush.
- You can also color your piece by using petal dusts or edible markers. If you want to use dark colors, make sure that the area is completely dry before applying more color. You can also cut individual pieces, such as flower petals and place them on top of your cake.
- You can print a picture, design, or pattern onto wafer paper using an edible printer. This will allow you to decorate your cakes, cupcakes, or cookies with it.
